Carmelo Anthony Pleads Guilty

As he should, Carmelo Anthony Pleaded guilty to
charges stemming from his April DUI arrest.

According to Freep.com, Carmelo Anthony may have found reassurance that the Denver Nuggets still want him around in the most unlikely of places: the courtroom where he pleaded guilty Tuesday to a reduced charge of driving while ability-impaired.
With trade rumors swirling around the beleaguered Anthony in recent weeks, coach George Karl and Mark Warkentien, the team's vice president of basketball operations, were in the courtroom to offer their support.

Anthony was sentenced to a year's probation, 24 hours of community service and more than $1,000 in fees and court costs while prosecutors dropped a more serious DUI charge.
The sentencing capped off a bustling two days for the 24-year-old.
He was chosen for the U.S. Olympic team on Monday, only to learn he was suspended by his team for two games because of the DUI arrest.

Anthony, who signed a five-year, $80-million extension in 2006, has been the topic of trade rumors, including speculation that the Pistons were interested in acquiring him.
But he said Tuesday he expects to remain with the Nuggets for the foreseeable future.

"I hope so," he said with a grin. "I plan to be."
Being a Denver native, Ms. Nina is definitely a huge Nuggets fan and I hope the Melo man has learned his lesson. I have said it before, he is a cool dude but he is still young and still learning. Unfortunately these guys don't come into fame and fortune very well and they have to learn lessons the hard way. These pro teams really need to come up with an aggressive mentoring program for these kids coming in, so they won't have to learn the hard lessons the hard way. I hope Mr. Anthony is awake and listening because next time he might not be so lucky. Someone could have gotten hurt and he would have been looking at more than the possibility of being traded. Ms. Nina 'says put it on the court Melo and show everybody what you are really made of this season. Come on baby you need that ring right!'
