I just have to take this time to ask someone to please enlighten me on why when an album only goes platinum people call it a commercial disappointment. If you sell a million albums, I don't care who you are, that to me is a great achievement. It is so crazy that people think you have to go multi-platinum in order to be a success. What is even crazier is that the people saying an artist is a flop because they only sold a million records are the same people who have never sold an album or done anything amazing for that matter in their entire lives. Well you know what they say, those who can, do and those who can't hate those who can!!

In A Perfect World I Would Have Remembered!

I received a couple of emails about Keri Hilson's album release of In A Perfect World. I usually make sure I post about albums that are coming out from artist that I like but for some reason I didn't remember that the album was coming out so I didn't post about. I think I was distracted by the negativity that surrounded the Turning Me On Remix. While I am a fan of Keri's music I thought that was a little out of left field for her to do something like that. It just turned me off a little when I heard the remix because I think the ladies need to stick together and support each other, too much negativity ruins everything. But anyway if you don't have the album run out and get it, I just got my copy so I haven't listened to the entire album yet but so far so good!

Usually Nina does a Happy Friday, but today we both had events we were hosting/sponsoring so we didn't have time to do the Happy Friday, so have a nice weekend ladies and gents. Nina will be at the Nuggets game tomorrow and I'm trying to get her to take me with. She gets those floor seats, that lady has some great connections in the Mile High!!! Go Nuggets!!

The beautiful twins Tia and Tamara Mowry were at TV Guides, TV's Sexiest Stars 2009 Gala in L.A. earlier in the week. They are absolutely gorgeous. I like it a lot!!!

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian were also out and about in L.A. They are just adorable, love the dresses!!

Bow Wow Has These Girls Goin' Crazy!

I really do adore Bow Wow as an entertainer and I really respect the fact that he has been able to stay in the game this long, but I can't imagine behaving this way over anyone, maybe it's just me but WTH! If you didn't know Bow Wow is on the road promoting his upcoming album New Jack City Part II, which will be in stores on March 31st. Blame It On The Alcohol!!!

My girls and I went out last night and got Grey Goosed out! It was so crazy last night because we ended up at one of our male friends homes and I can't even tell you how we got there, I mean we had a designated driver so I know how we got there but dude is out of town so I guess the better question is how did we get in his house. He has a big azz mansion so we had a good time I can tell you that. I talked to him this morning and he didn't mind that we were in his house actin' a fool. Thanks babe!! So I am on my way home before this blizzard hits, it is crazy because it is barely snowing and I can't believe we are going to get as much snow as they are saying. This is Colorado so you just never know, we get more snow in the spring than we do in the winter. I hope we get hella snow because it has been so dry this winter we didn't get much snow at all and we need that moisture because Colorado is very dry in the summer time. Well enough about my boring little life, I am still drunk so blame it on the alcohol!

Lady GaGa Did It Big In Denver!

Another highlight to my weekend was attending the Lady GaGa concert on Saturday (brought to us by KS107.5). Tickets sold out so fast that I didn't get one and I didn't think I was going to get to attend but a friend called me for a favor and I got to see Lady GaGa perform, I wanted to see Chester French as well but I was not so lucky. Lady GaGa put on a really good show and I am glad I had a chance to catch some of it. Those outfits were crazy, I loved it!!

J.R. Smith Hits Season High!!

It was a long weekend for me but it all started at the Nuggets game on Friday night. You know I was in the house to witness J.R. Smith drop 40 on the Washington Wizards. It was a great game and the Wizards couldn't stop J.R. Smith, I don't even think they tried, not like they did last year when they put two and three players on Carmelo Anthony in the last two minutes so he wouldn't get 50 points. 49 ain't bad though, but they had no such plan for J.R. Smith who led all scores to seal the win for the Nuggets 116 to 105. I love going to the games at the Pepsi Center because the Nuggets fans party hard and that we did do.

Hill Harper Has A Scholarship!!

The United Negro College Fund will manage the Hill Harper Mentoring Scholarship, the scholarship will be granted to financially challenged college bound students. Mr. Harper is heavily involved in many different charities and says he is honored to have a scholarship in his name. Hill Harper is an actor, author and activist and can currently be seen on CSI: New York.

I absolutely adore Hill Harper because he is a smart man and he does volumes for his community. Not bad on the eyes either!!!

Nina Monroe Asks..........When Do You Say No To A Gift?

So I plan many different events for Businessmen and some Athletes here in Denver and one of my associates sent me this Cartier Watch as a Thank You gift. I didn't think it was appropriate for me to accept it so I returned it. I don't know how much it cost but it was Cartier so I imagine it was expensive. I did call him to ensure that he wasn't offended by my returning the gift but I told him that I thought my husband would get the wrong idea from the gift. Hell I kind of got the wrong idea for a minute there I thought I had slept with him or something. My question is when do you say no to a gift?? What's the price limit on accepting gifts?? For me when I do business with people I don't expect any type of gift, if you like my work than a thank you will suffice but I do think anything over $20.00 you have to return. That is just my opinion, my girlfriend told me I should have kept the watch and gave it to her. But wouldn't I be sending my associate the wrong idea if I were to keep such an expensive gift?

Beyonce Out & About

One of my favorite pieces of chocolate was out making the rounds recently. Yes the beauty that is Beyonce was out and about doing a little shopping. Beyonce will be heading out for her World Tour soon, I believe it begins next week on March 26th and if I am not mistaken Edmonton, Canada will be her first stop. I haven't seen an dates lined up for the States so this may be an overseas tour only, I hope not.

Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction To Take Place In Cleveland

The 2009 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place in Cleveland this year and tickets are still available. There will be a week long schedule of events that will begin on March 28, the Induction Ceremony will be on April 4th and will broadcast live on Fuse TV.

LOVE HIM OR HATE HIM MICHAEL JACKSON IS STILL THE KING!!

OK people, I have been sick for the past five days and I wasn't even going to bother blogging today because I have not been online or watching the news so I am not up on what is going on in the celeb world, but my friend just called me and told me that Michael Jackson has sold out 5o concert dates at 02 Arena in London. I am getting varying reports on the number of tickets sold some reports say 750,000 and some are saying 900,000 because some shows had to be added to accommodate the fans. Whatever the case this is absolutely amazing, I expected the shows would do well but I am still speechless. I have always been a fan of The Jackson 5, Michael and Janet Jackson, a huge fan, so I am glad to see that the shows received this type of response. I try not to be a judgmental person because that is not my job so I do support Michael's music and if he ever decides to perform in my city I will definitely buy tickets for the show and I'll tell you why. When I was eleven years old Michael Jackson and his bothers came to Denver for the Victory Tour and I wanted to go to the concert so bad I gave up my allowance for six months for those tickets. I did go to that concert and there has never been another concert that topped that performance, well maybe Prince, but I digress. The concert was amazing and artist just don't perform like that anymore they don't have the same standards as Michael Jackson or Prince. That concert will live with me for the rest of my life and I always compare other concerts to that concert. Janet also gives an amazing show, and that is what people want to see more than anything, a show, not just a concert. Michael had a live band and didn't lip sync once during his performance and he danced the entire show and no one has ever been able to impress me more. I know he is a little long in the tooth these days but I am sure the people of London will definitely get there moneys worth. So to all the haters, love him or hate him MJ is still and always will be the King! Come on you are talking about a man who has sold over 750 million records worldwide, has 13 Grammy's and many other accomplishments, is he not the King of Pop?

Talk Shows Dedicate Day To Abuse

Oprah Winfrey said last Friday that she would be dedicating her show Thursday (today) to abusive relationships. Oprah isn't the only one, The Tyra Banks show and BET's 106 & Park will also be televising like shows today. Loves it, good for them!

Nickelodeon Was Sticking To Their Guns!!

Although it is being reported that Chris Brown is withdrawing his name as a nominee for the Kids Choice Awards, Nickelodeon was sticking by the nomination 100%.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Nickelodeon says it has no plans to remove Chris Brown as a nominee for its annual Kids' Choice Awards, despite the singer's felony charges for allegedly beating up his girlfriend Rihanna.

Brown is nominated for favorite male singer and favorite song for "Kiss Kiss." He'll be competing in the latter category with Rihanna, who police say was allegedly punched, bitten and choked by Brown last month.

An online petition asking Nickelodeon to remove Brown and Rihanna as nominees had 2,166 signatures Tuesday. Nick says Brown was nominated for his work as a performer, and kids will decide who wins. The awards are scheduled for March 28.

If Chris is really pulling out I think that is great and I think Nickelodeon should have pulled his name immediately after the facts of the case emerged. I know Chris Brown is innocent until proven guilty but the whole incident is just too much and it has no place at the Kids Choice Awards.

PSA For Abusers And Their Victims

I think it is such a sad occasion when victims of abuse return to their abuser without even trying to get any type counseling. I am a strong believer in forgiveness and love but I also believe in being in a healthy state, physically and mentally. The words I am sorry do not cure emotional and physical abuse. I think when the victim returns he/she is telling their abuser that it is OK to use me as your personal punching bag because I know you will say sorry and the relationship will be right again. Not only is the victim hurting themselves by returning but they are hurting their abuser because that person needs psychological treatment and they will never get it as long as their victim/victims stay. Eventually someone ends up dead or in jail and that is how it always turns out, there are only three options: leave (for me this is the only option), stay someone dies, stay and someone ends up in jail. If you know someone who is in an abusive relationship do everything in your power to get the victim and the abuser the help they so desperately need.

Search Continues For Missing NFL Players

Thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Oakland Raiders linebacker Marquis Cooper, free-agent lineman Corey Smith and Will Beakley who are still missing after their boat overturned off the Florida Coast over the weekend. Nick Schuyler was rescued on Monday and is in fair condition, the Coast Guard continue to search for the other three.
